Golden Thank You

I have to admit that gold was a little out of my comfort zone when the trend was introduced but it has grown on me big time and meanwhile I really like it. For this card I used my MDS again to design the "Thank You" and then send it to my e-cutter to cut it from the Gold Foil.Very easy, very simple, very elegant.

I attached the words with some Dimensionals to the card so they would stand out.

For the stars I used  a die from the Circle Cards Thinlits  set. I cut out a whole bunch of stars from Gold Foil, Champagne Glimmer Paper and Vellum and then ran them through my sewing machine to make them into a little garland that I attached to my card.

MDS Tips and Tricks

For the scrapbook page below I needed to shorten the length of the washi tape without distorting the picture. You could simply crop it but then you would loose the torn edges. So in the tutorial below I will explain how I achieved to shorten the length of the tape without sacrificing the edges or the shape.

Select the washi tape, copy and paste two times. Select the first copy and hit "Crop".

Crop a portion of the tape on the left.

Select the second copy and hit "Crop". Crop a portion on the right.

Now you have two short pieces that still need to be fused together to one piece. Select both pieces and align in the middle.

Now that both pieces are aligned mark the right piece of tape and only use your left arrow key to move them together until they look like one piece. By only using your arrow key you make sure that the the two tape pieces stay aligned properly.

Once they are close together and look like one piece of tape select both pieces and group them together. Now you can copy and pace the tape and move it around.

This is your new piece of washi tape with torn edges on both sides.

GOAL OR NO GOAL?

Today is a quick post but I felt it was time for another scrapbook page. When I scrapbook my pictures sometimes have a very non-traditional angle of view where I focus on specific details. On the page below I focused on the puck and cropped just that portion of the picture. This page was entirely done with MDS.

Sunshine Bag

How can I package some hand stamped cards if I want to give them to a really crafty person? Start out with a white lunch bag and feed the top through the largest of the Floral Frames Framelits Die for the fancy flap. Cut a piece of card stock with the next smaller die from the set and adhere to the flap. Add a couple of banners. Decorate the lower part of the bag with washi tape. For the focal point I stamped my favorite sentiment from the Feel Goods stamp set and cut it out with the medium sized die from the Floral Frames Framelits. Add a small flower punched with the Itty Bitty Punch Pack with a rhinestone for the bling. To make it pop even more I attached some Ruffle Stretch Ribbon to the back of my tag.
To make sure my bag stays closed I used a cloth pin that I spruced up with wash tape.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

Ice Hockey Thank You Cards

I have said it before and I am going to say it again: I love MDS. Besides the fact that it is awesome for digital scrapbooking it provides endless possibilities for card making. Add an e-cutter into the mix and the sky is the limit.

For the design of the thank you notes for the ice hockey coaches I was at a loss since there are no ice hockey themed stamps in the current catalog. But the MDS download "Game Day Hockey" had the perfect stamp brush set for this purpose.

I recolored the ice hockey rink stamp and added some players for which I changed the opacity so they are not too overpowering. Then I cut the print out with my e-cutter and layered it on Basic Grey card stock. To the side I added some little banners that I have punched with the banner punch from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. The focal point of the card is the ice hockey player from the Game Day Hockey download that I printed on Whisper White card stock and cut out with my e-cutter. The picture really doesn't do the card any justice since I could not capture the motion in the photo. I attached the ice hockey player to the card with a spring so it wobbles when activated. So fun. Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

Gold Sequin Heart

This card was a little bit of extra work but I think sooooooooooo worth the effort. First I took apart the sequin trim. Then I arranged every single sequin on an adhesive sheet. I cut a heart    in the middle of some Whisper White card stock with the die from the Hearts Collection Framelits and layered my sequins behind it.  To add some color and more dimension I adhered a little Red Glimmer Paper heart. The ribbon is what I was left with when I had all the sequins taken off the trim.

Stamps:           Itty Bitty Banners

I like how the reflections on this card change when you turn it in the light.

Pocket Birthday Card

Thanks for stopping by today. I am hoping you will find some inspiration for your projects on my blog.
Gold is so very trendy in the stamping world these days. First I thought this color was out of my comfort zone but I have to admit I am on a roll. And since I like fancy folds I decided to stick my birthday greetings in a vellum pocket. I think it turned out really cute, hope you like it too.

New Blog Header

Wahoo, today I finally finished my new blog header. I am so excited. I have been wanting to do this for quite a while. If only the day had at least 100 more hours, LOL.
I designed it all with MDS - LOVE MDS. So many different things you can do with it: Blog headers, cards, scrapbooking pages (love doing it all digitally these days), sending files to my e-cutter - the possibilities are just so endless! Leave me a comment and tell me what you think. Thanks for stopping by today and hope you have a great weekend.
